SCOTT R. SIMPSON age 56; dearly beloved husband of Cyndie (nee Wodzak); loving father of Sean and Ariana and Jamie Duran (Mathew),  Caylie Johnson-McConnell (Ryan) and Mathew Johnson; proud grandfather of Ryan Johnson and Samantha McConnell; son of Robert Simpson and the late Marsha (nee Merriman); brother of Brian, Tiffany Mackie (Dennis Kekic) and Henry Perkins (Brittany); beloved uncle, nephew, cousin and dear friend of many. Scott was an active and devoted member of Avon United Methodist Church and to his family and friends. Passed away October 21, 2024.  Relatives and friends are invited to meet for his Memorial Service, Saturday, November 2, Avon United Methodist Church (37711 Detroit Rd. Scott was born in Cleveland and grew up in West Park and Berea. He loved his neighborhood friends and would drive through the neighborhood when he was in the area.

He enjoyed picnics in the valley and going to breakfast and bowling with his family. He especially loved going to Browns games with his dad, and watching all the sports teams, Cavs, Indians, and the Browns.

He worked at 100th Bomb Group Restaurant, Flash Gordon's and American Can among other places.

When his son was young he was involved in football, helping coach. He loved his kids!

But then life got tough and he was in a dark valley for quite a while. He started putting his life back together, getting a job at Master Pizza in North Ridgeville. He loved working at that place! He loved his coworkers and the owners.

When he met Cyndie, he decided to get sober for good. He started attending Avon United Methodist Church where Cyndie was the worship leader. He was amazed by the love of the people of the church and the acceptance he felt. He became saved and wanted everyone to know Jesus so they could go to heaven, too. He wasn't afraid to share the gospel even with strangers.

He married Cyndie on August 8th 2023 in Kentucky. Shortly after, he was hired as the maintenance man at the church. He loved his 2nd job.
He and Cyndie bought a house in Berea to be closer to his dad. He was so excited to own a house and took pride in it, talking about projects he wanted to do.

He was a light to everyone around him. His love and acceptance of all people was evident. He wanted to help everyone. Even in his short illness, he touched the hearts of the doctors and nurses taking care of him. He will never be forgotten by his friends and family.
