SEHAM "SAM" DAWSON (née Ibrahim) age 72, passed away June 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Beloved wife of 25 years to Michael; loving mother to Nancy Tahan and Michael Tahan (Colleen); devoted grandmother of Nicholas, Emily, Piper, and Margo; dear stepmother to Steven Dawson (Christine); step-grandmother to Rebecka, Mathew, Stephanie, Autum, Dakota, and Peyton. Sister to Said Ibrahim and Mona Ibrahim; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews; Seham was preceded in death by brothers, Badr, Jaber, Joseph, Joudat, Maschour, and sister, Maschoura.

Born in Syria as the youngest of nine siblings,

Sam embarked on a journey to the United States at 12 years old with her brother, Said, and sister Mona, settling on Edgewater Drive in Lakewood, OH. She attended St. Clement's School and proudly graduated from Saint Joseph Academy in 1971. Throughout her career, Sam worked in various industries, forming lasting friendships wherever she went. Her warmth, kindness, and radiant smile made her unforgettable. She spent many years at Higbee's/Dillard's and Ford Motor Company, earning numerous awards for her strong work ethic, productivity, and attention to detail. She took immense pride in her work, setting an inspiring example for her children.

Above all, Sam embodied kindness, empathy, and unconditional love. She had a wonderful sense of humor and treasured every moment with her children, always encouraging them to chase their dreams. Whether they succeeded or stumbled, she was their unwavering source of love and support.

As a grandmother, Sam had a magical touch—soothing fussy babies, walking them to sleep, and creating a home filled with warmth, especially during Christmas. Her house was always alive with the best food, music, and toys for her grandchildren. She adored her dogs, from her first dog Bozo to Max, Teddy, Buddy, and Bella, each of whom she spoiled with love.

Sam loved her husband Mike and found joy in simply spending time with him, whether traveling, relaxing at home, or watching HGTV and Hallmark movies. Their love was effortless and constant.

Known for her impeccable taste, style, and grace, Sam had a presence that drew people in. She was deeply loved, and her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, June 18, Church of St. Clarence (30106 Lorain Rd.) at 10:00 AM where friends may call from 9:00 AM. until time of Mass. Inurnment Sunset Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sam's memory to the Cleveland Area Chapter Alzheimer's Association - https://www.alz.org/cleveland .
