SHIRLEY C. SCHEUERMANN (nee Combs) age 84; beloved wife of 65yrs. to Henry G.; loving mother of Laura Dreaver (Ted), Jennie Martin (Eugene) and Henry "Jim" Scheuermann (Suzette); dear grandma of Ted Dreaver (Karen), Jonanthan Dreaver (Maria), Justin Dreaver, Stephanie Besil (Adrian), Eric Martin (Kerri), Julie Martin, Brian Sewell (Mallory) and Cory Sewell; great grandmother of 16; sister of seven deceased brothers and sisters; aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend of many. Passed away July 29, 2024. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for Shirley's Funeral Service Saturday, August 3, at 10:30 A.M. Ascension Lutheran Church (28081 Lorain Rd. North Olmsted) at 10:30 A.M. where friends may call SATURDAY ONE HOUR PRIOR TO SERVICE. Interment private at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Shirley was highly active in the pro-life movement, volunteering at Cornerstone Pregnancy Center in Elyria, and being a part of the "Lutherans for Life" organization. It was not unusual to find her at a conference sitting at an LFL table distributing pro-life material. She always wore a "Precious Feet" pin (representing the actual size of a baby's feet at 10 weeks gestation). If anyone commented on her pin, she was quick to give them a pin of their own. She loved to read, and faithfully watched "Jeopardy", even testing at one time to be a contestant on the show. After raising her family, she went back to college, and at age 55 earned a degree in Political Science from Cleveland State University. She was an avid football fan, rooting for the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. She was also a huge fan of Tom Brady (from the Patriots). Her favorite place to visit was Hawaii. Her & Henry could often be found in Hawaii celebrating their February anniversary. In memory of this, we are asking those attending the funeral to either wear "Hawaii" or "Ohio State" attire, if possible.
