SOPHIE TETORAKIS (nee Lentzas), age 92, loving wife of the late Spero, mother to Peter and Angelo (Susan), Yiayia (grandmother) to Bryan (Gina), Cassandra, Katina and Alexis and Great-Yiayia to Hayden and Amari. Passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1932 and graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1951. She married Spero Tetorakis in 1952 and was a devoted wife for 61 years. Sophie's pride and joy was being a Yiayia to her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She spent countless hours playing cards, games, hosting sleepovers and cooking their favorite foods. Later in life, having her great-grandchildren has been such a blessing for her and for them to know their Great Yiayia. Sophie has been a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church where she once served as president of Philoptochos as well as a member of the Yassou Club, Eastern Star organization and the Varouh Cretan Club. Sophie made fond memories with her Cretan friends. To know Sophie was to love her; she will be dearly missed by many.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday February 19, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Chambers Funeral Home, 4420 Rocky River Dr., Cleveland (Trisagion service 5:00pm). Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 22909 Center Ridge Rd., Rocky River (Please meet at Church). Interment will follow at St. Theodosius Cemetery, Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the loving firemen/paramedics who showed her compassion and empathy in her time of need at Avon Lake Firefighter Paramedic Local 1361, 32811 Walker Rd., Avon Lake, OH 44012.
