STANLEY RAYMOND LEVINE, age 74, of Rocky River, Ohio, passed away on December 13, 2016. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a veteran of the U.S. Army, he moved to Cleveland to begin his career at NASA as a chemical engineer, specializing in ceramic coatings. He married his wife of 45 years, Phyllis (née Peterson), with whom he lovingly raised four children: Emmy, Lauren (Russell) Magaziner, Jessica (Eileen McDonald), and Peter (Brenda Reyes Cordova). He is survived by his brother, Al, sisters-in-law, Barbara Stewart and Gloria Peterson, four grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Jennie (née Turkel), and his sister, Frances. In his retirement, he enjoyed taking classes, traveling, tutoring children, hearing live music, regular poker games, and going on LEAKOIL cruises in a Volkswagen Vanagon. Always a fierce lover of family and friends, his kindness was eclipsed only by his generosity. A memorial service will be planned at a later time.
