THOMAS J. PEKAREK

THOMAS J. PEKAREK, age 78, beloved son of the late Elinor (nee McGervey) and Edward G. Pekarek, Sr.; dear brother of Edward G. Pekarek, Jr. (Patricia), Kathleen Spiewak (Bentley) (both deceased) and Elizabeth Pekarek (Alan McGinigle); loving uncle of Edward G. Pekarek III (Korey), Michael Pekarek (Laura), Deborah Weaver (Brian), Jason Spiewak (Liz), Kate McGinigle (Peter Leese), Steven McGinigle (Maddye) and great uncle of many. Passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2026. All Services will be private for the family.

Tom graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in electrical engineering and later achieved a Masters degree at Cleveland State University. He worked for many years at CEI/First Energy.

Tom was a quiet, kindhearted person who never said no to family or friends who needed help in fixing things. He was a good listener and patient when assisting others. In his early years, Tom was an avid golfer and fisherman, who enjoyed spending time on his boat on Lake Erie. He also liked to work on projects in his home shop and do genealogy searches. Tom never married or had children, but he had fun playing with his niece, nephews, and great nieces and nephews over the years. Tom was a devout Catholic, who attended services at St. Bernadette Church. He generously donated to local charities. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him.

A private service for family will be held in North Carolina. Donations in Tom’s name may be sent to Catholic Charities or the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
