TIMOTHY M. SCHAEFER, age 59, passed away on February 12, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer. Tim leaves behind many years of treasured memories shared with his beloved Vivian Gordon. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Helen (O'Shaughnessy) Schaefer. Brother of Rev. Dan Schaefer (Holly), Mary Ellen Staab (Bill), Frank Schaefer (Lisa), Barbara Winters (Bill), Dave Schaefer (Sue), Maureen Bailey, and Rita Hall (Jeff). Loving Uncle and Great Uncle to 20 nieces and nephews. Papa Tim to Brandt, Brady, Grant and Evan. Dear friend of Bill W. and Dr. Bob Smith for 29 years. Long-time friend and colleague to many.
Tim's career as a court reporter spanned 38 years. Tim worked as a free-lance court reporter and then went on to become an official reporter in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. During his tenure he was active in his professional state and national organizations, serving as President of the Ohio Court Reporters Association. Retiring after 30 years of service, he then took another position as an official reporter for the Lorain County Common Pleas Court. Tim has served as a mentor, role model and leader in the court reporting community. Tim loved his work, but most of all Tim enjoyed interacting with people.
