VICTOR JOHN RUTKOSKI, JR was born in Natrona Heights, PA to Lauretta (nee Allen) and Victor Rutkoski. Victor grew up in Freeport, PA and attended Freeport High School before serving in the Army from 1961 - 1967. He later attended Allegheny Community College earning an Associate's Degree.
Victor worked for the railroad for forty years, Conrail and CSX. He raised his family in Freeport, PA, but relocated to Cleveland in 1999 to work for CSX. (And to regularly wear his Pittsburgh Steelers attire in Browns territory!) Victor has been involved in the community for several years. He enjoyed volunteer activities as a member of Kiwanis Club, Aktion Club, and as a trail monitor for the Cleveland Metro Parks. Victor loved watching sports, especially Pitt Panthers Football and was a proud season ticket holder since 1995. For many years, Victor enjoyed running, completing many marathons, including Pittsburgh, Erie, Columbus, Cleveland, and Boston.
Victor was a beloved husband, proud father and grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather. Victor was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Marie Diane (nee Beatty), his daughters, Brenda Balacko (John), Lisa Probeck (Todd), and Jennifer Rutkoski. He is also survived by his grandchildren James Dunmire, Sarah Dunmire, Viktoria Probeck, and Anneliese Probeck, and his siblings, Rex Rutkoski, Randy Rutkoski, Greg Rutkoski, and Becky Podobnik.
Passed away suddenly April 14, 2025. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR. AT PURITAS, FRIDAY, APRIL 18, 12-3 PM. with military honors at 3:00 PM.
