Willis "Frank" Miotti, age 91 of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away October 21, 2023.
Frank was born August 31, 1932 in Stambaugh, Michigan the son of the late Antone and Lenore (Anderson) Miotti. He attended the Stambaugh High School, graduating with the class of 1950. Following graduation, he attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton Michigan obtaining a B. S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1954. After graduation, he was employed by a subsidiary of Exxon Oil in Venezuela until 1958. He then joined the General Electric and completed their Advanced Power Systems Engineering Program (MSEE). Frank continued employment with GE at various locations in the USA until his retirement in 1992.
Frank married the former Barbara Carlson in Jamestown New York in 1968, when both were employed by GE in Buffalo, New York They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on May 31st.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in North Olmsted, Ohio and attended the Grace Covenant Church in Stambaugh, Michigan during the many summers he and Barbara spent at Chicagon Lake in their retirement years. Frank was also a current member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers as well as the Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu, Engineering Honor Societies . He was a past member of the American Nuclear Society and the Cleveland Engineering Society.
Frank enjoyed many sports, was a great Green Bay Packer fan and in earlier years, was an avid trout fisherman on the Paint River and Cooks Run. He and Barbara traveled through out the U.S.A. and Europe following his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Clarice Stefani in 2001 and Phyllis Sablich in 2019.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, son, Steven (Deana) Miotti of Cumming, Georgia, two grandchildren, Courtney and Quinn; brother, Jack Miotti of Caspian, Michigan
A Memorial Service will be held in Stambaugh, Michigan at a later date.
