WALTER O. SCHNELL, age 89, father of Lawrence, Douglas, William and the late Stanley; grandfather and great-grandfather of many; son of the late Minnie (nee Biskowski) and Lawrence; brother of Dorothy, Ella and the late Art, Jasper, Donald, Pearl and Marge; former spouse of the late Ilene (nee Hammer). U.S. Navy veteran, SeaBees division, serving overseas in Japan and China. Born and raised in Royal Oak, MI. Following his discharge from the Navy, he settled in the Mansfield/Ashland, OH area where he spent the remainder of his life. Employed at Brandt Distributing for 32 years, Walter began as a truck driver and worked his way up to vice president. Passed away July 18, 2016. Inurnment Ashland Cemetery. All services private.
