WENDY A. HEINZMAN

WENDY A. HEINZMAN (nee Olszewski) age 70, passed away early Sunday morning, August 9. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and longtime resident of North Olmsted, Ohio. Wendy will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the warmth she brought to those around her.

Wendy made her home in North Olmsted for 35 years, building a life filled with family, friendship, and cherished memories. She was the devoted wife of David Heinzman, with whom she would have celebrated 37 years of marriage on August 19, and the loving mother of Peter and Andy. Peter and his wife, Angela, brought Wendy immeasurable joy through her beloved grandchildren, Maddy and Liam. To them, she was their beautiful Busia, a grandmother whose love will always be remembered.

Wendy was born on December 14, 1955, to the late Frank Jr. and Lorraine (nee Kutis) Olszewski. She is survived by her brother, Mike Olszewski, her sister, Sue Merkler, her brothers, David Olszewski and Rick Olszewski, and Rick’s wife, Nan. She was preceded in death by David’s wife, Svetlana. Wendy is also survived by her cherished friends and former co-workers, whom she loved and deeply appreciated.

Throughout her career, Wendy served with dedication in several respected roles, including at the U.S. Marshals Office and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She later concluded her working years in Cuyahoga Heights, where she continued to bring commitment and care to her work.

But the role Wendy cherished most was being home with Peter and Andy. She loved volunteering at their schools and with Scouting, and she happily gave her time at countless swim meets, band camps and football games. Among the family’s favorite traditions was an end-of-school-year celebration involving shaving cream, a joyful scene that thoroughly entertained the neighbors.

Wendy was always game for anything fun. She loved all kinds of crafting, especially scrapbooking and card making, and was forever on the lookout for the next best, most creative project. She also loved the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and found joy in making each celebration special.

Wendy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, faith and lasting love.

Funeral Mass Friday, August 14, Church of St. Clarence (30106 Lorain Rd) at 10:00 AM. Interment Eastlawn Memory Gardens. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS THURSDAY 4-7 PM.
