Wilbur J. Binder, 91, of North Olmsted, formerly a long-time resident of Westlake, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday January 18, 2024 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake.  He was born May 6, 1932 in Cleveland and was a graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland.  Mr. Binder was a veteran and he served in the US Army from 1950-1952 as a truck mechanic.  After serving his country, he joined the Heat and Frost Insulator's Union Local Number 3 in Cleveland and then worked as a pipe coverer for many years, retiring in 1995.  After retiring, Wilbur and his wife lived in Jupiter, Florida for 10 years and during that time he worked part-time at The Club at Ibis Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens.  He also worked part-time at North Olmsted Nissan.  Wilbur was a member of Grace Church of North Olmsted.  He loved golfing and enjoyed old cars and going to car shows.  Wilbur J. Binder is survived by: three daughters, Karen Adamson (Glen) of North Ridgeville, Debbie Girard (Dayne) of Clemmons, North Carolina, and Jennifer Tatarczuk (Anthony) of Bluffton, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Matthew (Kelly), Christopher and Joy Adamson, Keli Schwert (Kevin), Jason Girard (Peytn), and Gavin Tatarczuk; and six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Ava, Landon, Noah, Autumn, and Olivia.  He was preceded in death by: his beloved wife of 67 years, Alice (nee Paul) in 2023; his parents, Carl and Mabel (nee Hartle) Binder; his sister, Dorothy Binder; and his brother, Carl Richard Binder.  The family will receive friends on Saturday January 27, 2023 from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 3pm at the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME OF NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 Lorain Rd., (at Stearns Rd.).  Pastor Dean Good from Grace Church of North Olmsted will officiate the service.  Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery in Westlake.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Grace Church of North Olmsted or to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
