WILLIAM B. "BILL" JOY, 84, of Avon Lake, went to be with the Lord Monday, February 27, 2023. Bill was born in Cleveland and was a lifelong resident of the area.  He was proud to have served as a Navy Seabee from 1957-1959. Bill was a long-time staff member and served on the board of directors for Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project).  He was a member of New Community Baptist Church and past member of Bay Presbyterian Church and was active in a variety of ministries at each church. Bill was a hardworking and generous man and a kind and loyal friend.  Bill is survived by two sons, Thomas (Jeanine) and Jonathan (Jenni) Joy; three grandchildren, Jacob (Kasey) Joy, Marie (Craig) Gillen and Rebecca Joy; one sister, Tamara Szarka; one niece, Joy (Henry) Miller and one nephew, Mike (Angie) Richards; one great niece, Allie Miller and one great nephew, Kyle Richards; longtime companion Carolyn Casper and her family.  He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Bobbie (nee Budziak) and one sister, Sydney Richards.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME OF NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS ,  where friends may call from 6:00 pm until the time of the service.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Mountain TOP, 480 Old State Highway 56, Coalmont, TN, 37313 or the Veteran's organization of your choice.
