WILLIAM GROVER MASTERSON, age 86, of Indianapolis, IN. where he passed away August 20, 2010, beloved husband of Josephine (nee Kosmerl); father of Jean T. Masterson, D.P.M. (J. Carter Williams) of LaSalle, CO., Mary Alice Cataldo (John), of Birmingham, MI, and the late William Gregory; grandfather of Mary Katherine Dowdy (Tyler), John Reed Cataldo and Paige Welby Cataldo; son of the late William G. and Nellie; brother of twin sisters Sr. Mary Jane Masterson, C.S.J. and the late Regina Gorie (Leo, deceased) Uncle of many. Graduated from St. Ignatius High School, attended John Carroll University and earned a B.S. degree in Physics from the University of Detroit. WWII U.S. Army veteran served in the 358th Engineers under General Bradley and participated in the Liberation of France and landed on Omaha Beach, Normandy on D-Day. Mr. Masterson was an engineer for 32yrs with General Motors in Cleveland, Warren, MI and Indianapolis, IN. He had a great interest in genealogy and indexed 17 books of Irish records pertaining to areas of Ireland associated with his family and made them available to genealogy libraries and interested individuals. Funeral Mass Wednesday, August 25, St. Clement Church (14401 Madison Ave. Lakewood) at 10 A.M. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery.
