WILLIAM PAUL OWAD, SR. "Pop", age 94, Devoted husband of the late Lucille Anne Owad (Nowjack). Loving father of William, Jr (Donna) and Deborah (Peter). Cherished grandfather of Katherine (Owad) and Eric Warner, Sarah (Owad) and Timothy Weirich, Nikolas Kessel, Christina Owad and Sean Kessel. Great grandfather of Oliver and Harper Warner and Emma Weirich. Beloved son of the late Walter and Mary Owad (Vodika). Dear brother of Mary Ann Bell (Owad) and JoAnn Lunar (Owad). Preceded in death by brothers Daniel and Terrance, and sister Mildred Sterley (Owad). Bill was a proud U.S. Navy veteran; enlisting in 1942 and honorably discharged in 1946. Worked at Bell Motor as a mechanic where he met the love of his life, Lucille. They married on March 31, 1955 and were married 62 years. He was the proud and tireless owner of West Side Ignition for 40 years. Once he sold his business, he officially retired - or did he? He became a handyman inside and outside the home. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. His last garden was a labor of love where everyone benefited from what he grew, and he put his last walleye in the boat at age 92. A lifelong learner, he was a man never to sit idle, always busy doing something, whether reading, fixing this or that or just "putzing" in the basement. He was known for always having a great smile and loving life to the fullest - which he did quite well.

The family will be hosting a memorial celebration / service at a later date when we can safely gather after clearing the current COVID 19 pandemic. There will be a graveside memorial service with full military honors on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Lutheran Cemetery located at 4566 Pearl Road, Cleveland, OH. In light of the current COVID 19 situation in Ohio, we ask that everyone in attendance please wear a mask and maintain appropriate distancing. No flowers please.
