BERNARD R. SYNK of Middleburg Heights, died peacefully August 15, 2024, with family by his side. He was born March 17, 1942, in Cleveland to Bernard C. Synk and Lois (Priver) Synk. Bernie deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always making an effort to be involved in their lives. He is survived by children Tracy McDowell (Mike) , Tim Synk, Amy Lester (Mike), Lisa Bitner (Andy), and Holly  Carpenter (Dave); grandchildren Kaitlyn (Chris), Clay (Cassie), Josh (Molly), Garrett (Wendy), Maizey, Hunter (Hannah), Cole, Carly, David, Anna, and Andrew; great grandchildren Daniel, Mackenzie, Tad, Finn, Emma, and another great-grandson, Connor, on the way. He was one of six children including Richard Synk (deceased), Janet Slade (Larry, Deceased), Mary Jo Pleva (David), Paul Synk, and Patty Austin (Mike).

Bernie was a 1959 graduate of Berea High School and a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College with a degree in Business Administration. He worked for American Greetings for many years and after retiring, worked various jobs at many interesting places including The Daytona International Speedway, and one of his favorite places, Cedar Point.

Bernie was an avid boater and loved to fish. He enjoyed traveling with family to Florida and Arizona, as well as to Las Vegas and Lakeside, Ohio. He was a talented woodworker and painter, and his annual Christmas yard display was always a hit with his family. He loved puzzles and even permanently framed many of his favorites.
