About Our Family

Agnes B. & Wm F. Chambers, Sr. founded the WM. F. Chambers Funeral Home in 1933. The first location was on the East Side of Cleveland at 12921 Euclid Ave. Soon after our grandparents moved to a home at W. 85th and Madison Ave. in Cleveland, Ohio. Four years later, in 1937, they purchased a home at 4420 Rocky River Drive in Cleveland and moved a young family and business to what is currently our main location in Cleveland's West Park neighborhood. They lived in the upstairs apartment.
Unfortunately, Wm. F. Chambers, Sr. passed away unexpectedly in 1950 at the age of 45 years. Agnes Chambers assumed the leadership of the business, and with the encouragement of her sons, made a brave decision and decided to not close and remain open until they were old enough to take over the reins.
With great enthusiasm, they did and the company grew. In 1955, Wm. F. Chambers, Jr. and 1959 Daniel B. Chambers, Sr. received their funeral directors license.
Like many funeral homes in Cleveland at that time, the family also owned and operated their own ambulance service to assist the community.
In 1974 a second location in Berea, Ohio was opened. The former Fox Funeral Home was purchased adjacent to St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
In 2003, a third location in North Olmsted, Ohio, was opened. It is located on Lorain Rd. at Stearns Rd.,the new North-South connector between I-90 and I-480. Thus making us a convenient location for all West Side families.
Many physical changes and upgrades have happened to the buildings over the years, but the third and fourth generations of Chambers are committed to following the lead and example of our parents and grandparents. It is our goal to provide memorable and meaningful funerals to each family.
